Wear to the Office: Polka Dots

Polka Dots | City and Burbs

I went to buy some Pam cooking spray at Target yesterday.  And well, you know what happens when you go to Target for one thing.  Before I knew it, I had been there over an hour and this adorable blazer was hanging out of my basket.  The rest is history.

What I love about it is that I was able to take a plain black outfit and infuse some life into it.  And I definitely don’t think this blazer is a one trick pony.  In my head I see with with a crisp white shirt underneath, some black or tan trousers; heck, maybe even paired with a red pencil skirt! I look forward to sharing some more outfits featuring this blazer in the future.  In the meantime — have you ever gotten bamboozled by Target’s magic? Ever come out with a piece of furniture even though you only went to pick up a notebook? Tell us about it in the comments!

Comfortable Heels

It’s interesting – though they’re not the most expensive high heels in my closet, my Banana Republic pumps always seem to be the most comfortable.  There’s just something about the leather (I guess) that makes them super soft and easy to walk in.  So, a few weeks ago when M and I went to Banana to take advantage of the Friends and Family discount (50% off 5 items!), I had to pick these oxblood snake skin pumps right up.  So if you have an aversion to heels, I highly recommend BR shoes — they haven’t failed me yet!

IFBCON – Day 2

Day two of IFB was great, come back tomorrow for a full review from Cat.  In the meantime, here’s what I wore.  Please ignore the bright yellow bracelet, it’s not a fashion statement, I had to keep it on to go back on day 2.   After a full day of sessions and running around, my feet had just about enough in my NEW Ivanka Trump pumps…yeah NEW….rookie mistake #1.  The zipper on my jeans would just not stay up, so I spent the entire time adjusting it, here’s proof...rookie mistake #2.  Lessons learned, comfort is key!  I decided on Day 2 to wear shoes that I can stand in all day and comfortable clothes.  I opted for a business casual look.

What is your go-to comfortable and fashionable outfits for conferences like this?

PS…I got a new camera…yay!  A Cannon Powershot S100.  It’s the new version of my old one.  A little more than I was hoping to pay, but I love it!
