Burgundies and Greys

Happy week before Christmas to all. I hope that you’re all farther along than me as far as the gift-getting is concerned. I’m the worst. I still have 5 more people to shop for and with very little time to do it because work is so busy just before the holidays. But only I am to blame. I do it to myself every year.

Well enough lamenting, I’m off to do some online recon to see what deals I can get at brick and mortar stores because guess what – it’s too late to online shop without paying ludicrous prices for shipping! But before I go, I leave you with this outfit.

Patterned Skirt and Colorblock Sweater

Thank god it’s Friday! Why is it that the week after Thanksgiving is always so unbelievably long? Well, it’s finally over and I’m really looking forward to the weekend — holiday decorating, holiday parties and comedy club dates await!

Today, I paired this Banana Republic Outlet find with a crisp white blouse under a Target sweater (that was on clearance in the store) for a classic look. The black and white palette make this skirt super versatile so I look forward to matching it up with different tops this winter.

Cords and a Turtleneck

As much as I try to fight it, it’s been getting a bit nippy out there lately. And since my mostly wonderful husband is also sort of a thermostat nazi, I find that in the morning when I’m getting dressed, I gravitate towards the cozy. Well, what’s more cozy than a pair of burgundy corduroy pants and a white turtleneck sweater? Actually – probably this herringbone blazer, which is pretty darn cozy too. So today, I pretty much just threw all the warmest items I could find into this one outfit. I was pleased with the results and was toasty all day. Is it getting cooler where you are? What are your favorite cozy pieces?
