Dance!

Between Diana and me, I’m definitely the less coordinated one.  While Di was a cheerleader throughout most of our childhood (I wish I had a photo of this handy to show!), I was the studious “gleeber” – our nickname for members of the glee club in high school – which was NOTHING like Glee by the way.  In fact, I’m still a member of the women’s choir to this day.  Still, I’ve always been riveted by dance and movement.  My dad and I attended all of my sister’s competitions, I’ve ALWAYS been captivated by women’s gymnastics in the Olympics, and the past several summers I’ve been addicted to So You Think You Can Dance.  Seriously guys, it’s THE BEST competition show on television, period.  (How amazing is Eliana this season!?) And Cat Deely helps me convince M to watch it with me occasionally.

So here’s my dilemma.  I’ve never danced and my obsession with watching Center Stage every time I find it on TV doesn’t change that.  But I think dance is beautiful, especially ballet, and I’ve been thinking about putting some dance art in my house.  So my question to you — would that make me a total poser?

Here are some images that I have been looking at that I may want to add to the walls — perhaps a gallery wall so it’s not so blatant.  What do you think?

This one perhaps in black and white and a little less exposed:

The Koresh Dance Company, Jenkintown, PA

and my personal favorite because it features Summer Glau (a regular femme fatale in Joss Whedon productions):

  2. I love love love SYTYCD, I’ve been watching since the first season! I don’t think it’s poser at all to use dance art – it’s a beautiful art form, so why not appreciate it? Great finds, they would be so lovely displayed!

I think if you love watching ballet, then you should certainly put the art up on your walls!

Thanks for stopping by my blog! I don’t think hanging dance photos makes you a poser – dance is an art, and you’re celebrating it. Plus it’s your house, so do what you what!
